One step at a Time on My Love Playlist

One Step at a Time – Jordin Sparks – My Love Playlist

Who else out there wants everything right now? I’ve always been like that. So impatient. I used to say patience is a virtue…that I don’t have. Especially now when we live in an “Amazon-every-thing-you-ever-wanted-can-be-delivered-today” world…it’s even harder to wait. Being impatient has served me well at times. I take massive action when I want something. It’s made me work harder and harder, no matter how tired I am. However, impatience has taught me what NOT to do at times. It’s taught me that when you don’t wait for the right time, the right circumstances, the next move you make may not be the “best” one. But who’s to say one move is “better” than another, really. We learn from all decisions and all moves. But I’ve learned from my impatient hasty decisions that I might just end up with the house that I can’t afford, just because I want it now. I would talk myself into why some guy (teacher) was a good guy, and ignore all the red flags showing me he wasn’t. I ended up with an Acura with a $1000 payment that I ended up not being able to afford because I’d always wanted one and I wanted it now. Acting fast isn’t always a bad thing; however, I love songs like One Step at a Time and I’m reminded to just take one more step, and then one more step, instead of making a hasty decision. Right now isn’t always the best time.
I rented a house I hadn’t seen because the market was crazy and I acted immediately. That one turned out to be great because if I had seen it in person, I wouldn’t have rented it because the owner had done NO improvements in 20 years and the carpets were disgusting. But we loved that house and neighborhood, and my kids met their best friends of their lives who are still their best friends 10 years later.
I listened to this song probably every day when I was single. I get so frustrated sometimes when things take longer than I want them to take. I want to go to the gym once and be ten pounds thinner today! It doesn’t work like that. Just take the next right step. Just to the gym. Let go of the timing completely. Detach yourself from the how and when, and just do one thing today that gets you closer. That’s why music is so powerful. It can take you down and make you feel even worse, or it can remind you that you’re on the right track and you’re doing great!
Right now, we’re looking at homes. We love our house but we would love to have a larger yard for entertaining, room for some trees and a garden, and room for the dogs to run. We’ve looked at a few, they have pros and cons, but we just aren’t going to be in a hurry. They don’t feel right. The perfect house with the perfect yard in the perfect neighborhood will pop up when it’s the right time and the right everything! I learned that from all my impatience. I love these lyrics because it really is our faith that makes us strong enough to take the next right step. Faith in the things we can’t see. Faith in the things we don’t know from experience to be true. We only hope they will be true. We may not know for sure that we can have a husband whose first priority is our care and well-being because we haven’t experienced that first hand. But we can have faith that it is possible and hope that it is true, and that faith helps us take the next right step in caring for ourselves and caring for our families and being 100% for them today.
Hurry up and wait
So close, but so far away
Everything that you’ve always dreamed of
Close enough for you can taste
Jordan Sparks Lyrics, everything that you've always dreamed of, close enough for you to taste
One step at a time gave me hope for love after divorce

But you just can’t touch

You wanna show the world, but no one knows your name yet
You wonder when and where and how you’re gonna make it
You know you can if you get the chance
In your face as the door keeps slamming
Now you’re feeling more and more frustrated
And you’re getting all kind of impatient, waiting
We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There’s no need to rush
It’s like learning to fly
Or falling in love
One Step at a Time Helped me Find Love
Find love after 40 by listening to One Step at a Time by Jordin Sparks

It’s gonna happen and it’s
Supposed to happen that we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time

You believe and you doubt
You’re confused and got it all figured out
Everything that you’ve always wished for
Could be yours, should be yours, would be yours
If they only knew
You wanna show the world, but no one knows your name yet
You wonder when and where and how you’re gonna make it
You know you can if you get the chance
In your face as the door keeps slamming
Now you’re feeling more and more frustrated
And you’re getting all kind of impatient, waiting
We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There’s no need to rush
It’s like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It’s gonna happen and it’s
Supposed to happen that we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time
When you can’t wait any longer
But there’s no end in sight (When you need to find the strength)
It’s your faith that makes you stronger
The only way we get there is one step at a time
The Only Way We Get There is One Step at a Time
Take everything one step at a time and visualize what you want in life.

Take one step at a time
There’s no need to rush
It’s like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It’s gonna happen and it’s
Supposed to happen that we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time

One Step at a Time
Everything will happen FOR you not TO you!

One step at a time
There’s no need to rush
It’s like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It’s gonna happen and it’s
Supposed to happen that we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time

I also used to say I’ll sleep when I’m dead. Getting no sleep and outworking everyone was my badge of honor. I was so proud to be sleep deprived. That’s ego. You can’t function at a high level unless your body has time to rest. The number of hours you need depends on the person, but now, I sleep when I need sleep. Period. I listen to my body when it tells me something. I definitely want to be ten pounds thinner right now, but I know it takes time, and I’m going to just go the gym.

Wishing you lots of love one step at a time!

Karen
