John and I went to see Phil Collins two years ago…his “I’m not dead yet” tour. He came out walking with a cane (this same man who used to jump around stage for hours and days and used to say he lost 30 pounds every time they went on tour.) He can’t walk anymore. He came out and sat down and did the entire concert from his chair. He said he’d had back surgery and his foot was “f*cked”. Sorry, his words not mine. You should have heard every single person in the crowd singing along to this song at the top of our lungs. I’ll never forget that night! Now, this song is not really a love song but I just love it and I love Phil Collins so much. And it makes me think about the period of time toward the end of my first marriage when I hated coming home. I would fly home from a business trip and do anything that would delay my arrival at my own house. Sometimes I’d land and go to the airport bar for a drink before collecting getting in my car and driving home.
That’s why I made the commitment to visualize the life and love that I eventually wanted. Now, my home is my favorite place to be. I constantly visualized a relationship and I life that I couldn’t wait to come home to. So I had to add “Take Me Home” by Phil Collins is on My Love Playlist.
I believe we believe the messages we continuously hear, so we need to engage in conversations, read information and listen to songs that help us visualize the life we want!
I’m an ordinary man They don’t tell me nothing
Take that look of worry
I’m an ordinary man
They don’t tell me nothing
So I find out all I can
There’s a fire that’s been burning
Right outside my door
I can’t see but I feel it
And it helps to keep me warm
So I
I don’t mind
No, I
I don’t mind
Seems so long I’ve been waiting
Still don’t know what for
There’s no point in escaping
I don’t worry anymore
I can’t come out to find you
I don’t like to go outside
They can turn off my feelings
Like they’re turning off the lightBut I
I don’t mind
No, I
I don’t mind
Oh, I
I don’t mind
No, I
I don’t mind
So take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Seems so long I’ve been waiting Still don’t know what for There’s no point in escaping I don’t worry anymore
Take, take me home, oh Lord
‘Cause I’ve been a prisoner all my life
And I can say to you
Take that look of worry
Mine’s an ordinary life
Working when it’s daylight
And sleeping when it’s night
I’ve got no far horizons
I don’t wish upon a star
They don’t think that I listen
Oh, but I know who they are
And I
I don’t mind
No, I
I don’t mind
Oh, I
I don’t mind
No, I
I don’t mind
So take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home, oh Lord
Well, I’ve been a prisoner all my life
Take, take me home ‘Cause I don’t remember Take, take me home ‘Cause I don’t remember
And I can say to you
But I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take, take me home
